Cave Lake State Park and the White Pine County Tourism and Recreation Board are planning a summer beach party! The second annual Cocktails and Cannons.
My entry was a valveless Lockwood Pulse Jet Powered BathTub June 26 2010.
The Examiner.com wrote; a deafening

Two years ago I read Bruno Ogorelec , article I was hooked from that point on. Starting with a bohanon and Thermojet pulse jet and getting the dominations of combustion chamber, intake and tail pipe right. It seemed there was one I built that didn’t run. How well they ran was another story.
This forum has been a source of inspiration. And with a little help from Bruce Simpson, and the episode form Junk Yards Wars, with the Pulse Jet powered boat. It just seemed right.

I think our Australian members have some experience with jet powered boats we could call on for next years entry (don't be shy guys you know who you are;-) a radio controlled bathtub could be a contender too .

I wonder could we run the exhausts submerged for better thrust (if?) and noise reduction but would that then kill the fish?

Looks like a whole load of fun and a good day out in the country from reading the article

pulsejet powered kayak
Pulsejet powered boat (junkyard wars)

Basically pulsejets are not much good with displacement hulls but if you could get a decent hull up on the plane they'd be great.

Still thinking of making another one with a stepped hull and about 500lbs of thrust.

Relax and join the fun! The Ely Tour and Recreation board should be paying me for this.
I’ve lived here for six years and haven’t run out of things to do since my retirement.
Great food, Convertible lodging no Wal-Mart, but there’s still plenty to see and do.
Plus “Pulse Jet engine Bathtubs at Cave Lake” is a must see how could it get better?

That could be a first you know Mike, I have never heard of any one doing a large scale putt-putt motor, were the hell would you start is the next question though? would it even scale up?

Yeah, I have a patent around here of one that looks like an outboard motor, but I'd go more basic I think, and try and preserve the original approach. Either one or two bigguns or a big mess of littleuns. How fun would that be?

Here it is, but haven't dissected if it's strictly putt-putt. Makes me wonder if you can shape the bottom of the boat so that bubbles do the work. Kinda like a scramjet if you squint your eyes.

I have seen somewhere ( it was on my old computer before it gave up the ghost) - a diagram
showing an outboard motor that was made from a valved pulse jet. I have know idea if it worked
or not.
How about a putt putt motor heated by a pulse jet?
That way Mike you get the putt putt AND the noise...heh !
