emails dir in webpages

Post by pablo » Thu Dec 04, 2003 7:45 pm

I think it would be a good idea to remove the email adresses in the webpages of pulse-jets.
for example bruno's one in the valveless section
or write
gdsg (at) fasdf.com

On the contrary, I believe it is safe to have your real e-mail address here. I've had my "throwaway" email address on my profile just to test this, and it has not collected any spam except the reply notifications, which you can turn off. So far, this BB is keeping our info safe from spammers.
On the same note, I'd like to encourage everyone to give some info on yourselves, and cmon, guys, your real name? I don't care what handle you like to go by, but you should at least have your name in the profile, and I don't know, list your terrorist affiliations, that sort of thing?

meh. i tried, but being sober (coffee free in my case) i clicked the wrong age group when going through the process of signing up with my real name. so now you can have the pleasure of speaking to a cup of coffee. Maybe i will sign up as death one day.....not many people can say that they have conversed with the grim reaper himself :o)

Weebl The Corruptor - You must be Weebl The Corruptor. Death is ancient, as old as life. You are only 14, Thomas - too young to be Death. Sorry.

I meant webpages, not the profiles.
thats why I mentioned the valveless section.

I'm not really sure, but I think they're called harversters.
those program that surf the web looking for email adresses and then you get garbage in your account.
it happened some months ago, when one found the old forum, we all recibed tons of garbage.
the other alternative is to use a pic that looks like text.

Oh, I get it! Yeah, then I agree most strenuously, or at least as much as I can, not having my address there!

well.....i think this was done as a solution, putting a space before and after the @ should stop this from happening. A program should not be able to pick this up. Failing that, should the program be able to tell the difference between a space and a character, one of the special symbols could be used. holding Alt, and pushing 0160 on the neumerical keypad gives a space, but it is defined as a character. Useful for skipping required feilds in software setups ;p)

I have the feeling that in a couple of months they will be improved and be able to read those directions too.
the only solution will be using a pic
