I don't have a spinning disk, I have a very light weight piston without a crankshaft, it's just a copper cap, something you could buy to cap some 1/2 inch diameter copper tubing. They are very light weight and just fly up and down the tube with the greatest of ease, nearly teflon-like.
But a spinning disk would be fun to try, I think being in a tube a coin shape would be the ticket.
Maybe a copper penny would work if you could pin it down, put little pins in the top and bottom for it to spin on an axis. It could be a penny whistle pulsejet.

I still like the idea of thought of a disc or round rotating valve. Have you heard of anyone trying something in that line?

I like the Idea of the Sterling thing!. I have a k band sattelite dish I could paint crome and make one. All you need is a Fly wheel and bump start it! It would run as long as the sun was up!!!

BRIEF COMMUNICATIONS
----------------------
Mechanoluminescence: Light from sonication of crystal slurries
Light flashes sparked by acoustic shock waves far outshine those
created by manual crushing.
Nathan C. Eddingsaas and Kenneth S. Suslick

Just some article/synopsis in Nature. Don't know what it has to do with pulsejets, but the acoustic energy makes light this way. I wonder what color the crystal slurry makes when "stimulated?"

Well, you can find some topics of interest to pulsejet land here so I think it qualifies as a tool of sorts. The "intersection of three revolutions ..."
The invention of the year certainly made some money.

Just toying with you, or maybe a bad acid trip. But really, where do jam jars go in the Summertime? Fish are jumping and the cotton is high. Your daddy's rich, and your momma's good looking ...
Always searching. Alas, no real jam jars for youtube. "One of these mornings, you're going to wake up singing..."

Nice picks, Mark - the Jam Jars video is hilarious! And that twin pulsejet flight is just astounding!

Hi Mark,

Was that two valved or valveless PJs?

It sort of looked like two valveless with a straight pipe and no expansion for the exhaust.

Looks like Zanin (sp) pulsejets from Italy. Yes, they are little reeded babies for all you valveless people. ha
