Just some tidbits from left field or the corn field.

I was looking at the mirror coated with rhodium, not that coatings use that much but check the price of rhodium these days.

If nothing else these magnets have a nice protective coating. With an electrolyte like potassium hydroxide in your pulsejet exhaust, maybe you could generate some electricity using these kinds of powerful magnets. Or at least build up a charge on your pulsejet and zap yourself with some super static. ha

Or perhaps a sunlight ignition system for your pulsejet?

I use to go gold panning a lot. I used a sluice and pan. I would just collect the cream de cream and take home 5 gal buckets of black sand to hit with a vibrator tub and then collect any and all fines that showed up. Did good most of the time.

This guy I met out there over about 10 trips asked me " What do you do with your left over black sand" I stated I just through it in the drive way to fill the holes! He started laughing and stated that I could had been getting $5.oo a lb for it. There is a place in EL-Paso that processes it for the Rare Earths......Ah Shit!!!!!!!!

The Fresnel came from a overhead projector I have my eyes on one at work. Ha. They don't use it any more . Now they use a LCD projector.....It's MINE....MINE.....MINE I tell you...........It's Mine Eric.........

My Dad and brother panned for gold in the mountains of Oregon when we went camping. I think they filled an entire vial with gold but the labor was way more than the gold was worth in the end. Still is was an interesting experience. And the rivers and scenery were special. Ah, the black sand with flecks of gold. If I recall the black sand was attracted to a magnet, being mostly iron of some sort.

Yep!!! It was good. Most of the time all we found was color and once in a while a small nugget. I just did the thing and had a good week end of fun meeting people and changing Ideas...I would return home with a miniscule vile of Gold and 50 lb of black sand. I was happy. The running water the camp food and what. l would take the black sand home and double my finds with a couple of hours on the vibrator....in fine gold. I could had doubled that by selling the black sand @ $5.oo a lb.....

I don't know what they produced it or what they was after?

I can tell you one time we went to the same place we have been more then a bunch of times. I turned over this big butt rock and dug out the dirt. We found a 1/2 of grit gold that day. (micro nuggets)...

Imagine being way up in the mountains, a crystal clear river, panning for gold and finding little beads of mercury in your gold pan. I guess in the old days they used mercury. Another time we met a fellow that had been dredging under a boulder in a river/stream. He found a pinky-finger-sized gold nugget. But that is something very rare.
I explored some gold mining caves, lots of neat stuff in Oregon, as if you are a real explorer. Often gold is found associated with quartz rock. The other day a professor came in the library and said they were finding diamonds in Illinois in the corn fields, apparently deposited there from the great glacial scrapes that plowed them down from Canada.

This is in the New Mexico town of Pinas Altas.....And is a old ...old...Aluvial gravel situation...If you pan up by the old ore proccessing places you find Murcury......Some of the small nuggets look silver because of the murcury. They used the murcury to amalgum the gold and pull it out as it was so fine. Some powder like stuff. This place dates back to some time around 1750. The Spanards used Indians and Burros to pull a chrushing stone around a circle pit called a Arasta. They filled it with Ore and Murcury. The Gold clumped up due to the Murcury and was scooped out.

Not a good Life!!!!!!

Sorry about the spelling. Google seem to not like me today!

The old saying goes... GOLD RIDES A IRON HOURSE!!! IF YOU FIND QUARTS THAT IS STAINED RED WITH IRON,,,,,YOU WILL FIND GOLD, SILVER AND PLATINUM.........

Today I was reading about the 25 million prize for a car that gets 100 mpg. I think the Model T got 25 mpg but don't quote me. But what was of interest was the pneumatic braking that pressurized nitrogen and fed that energy back into the system.
Then what was more interesting was the preheating of the intake air before combustion. It was an idea borrowed from the jet, the intake air is compressed, then the exhaust is used to heat the compressed air before it is fed into the combustion chamber. The preheating of compressed air helps burn the fuel better the article said. Then the hot gases drive an impeller of sorts.
I forgot to copy the article and provide the site that has the company name. Suffice to say, there are a lot of people going for the twenty five million dollar prize.
Gentlemen, start your engines. ha

Here is the article I read yesterday at work. Be sure to read all three pages, there will be a pop quiz in the morning. ha
Page three has a nice jet-like diagram and food for thought.

Capillary action revisted. I wonder if an ultra tiny pulsejet could be fashioned out of this, perhaps with an exhaust tube added or some other mojo.

I just saw an ad on TV. A guy is choking to death on food at a fine restaurant. The other people at the table talk calmly as they gradually get around to solving the problem.
"Less talk, more action, the Royal Bank of Scotland." The advertisement proclaims.
There are many things that are hard to get around to doing, I am in agreement on that. But if you can muster the strength to try something, it often will lead you on to even more things to try. In making a pulsejet there is often just one thing that is difficult to do or make. And yet when you overcome that hurdle, you find out it wasn't so bad. I suppose faith or the ability to see into the future plays a part in it. Dream, don't let the little things prevent you from having some fun.

Well said and your correct!...It could be the little things that stop you! If you can't perform the task that stops you, I bet you have a friend that can!!!!! Ask them! If you want it to happen , You can make it happen.

Yesterday I was trying to blow some dust out of my computer, there is a tiny fan that is perhaps 1.5 inches in diameter, perhaps 1/4 inch in diameter and it whines and groans sometimes. If I tilt my computer on edge and drop it, it sometimes stops. Other times I have puffed in air from a soccer ball pump, I give it a quick puff and the droaning stops. Then I took to using an inflatable pool air pump.
So then I decided to try the jet of air from this pool air pump on my quartz tube with copper disk that freely slides up and down the length with the greatest response to the tiniest puff of air. So I aimed the jet of air at the opening and the little disk flew down the quartz tube towards the exhaust end but I had my finger near the end so it could not escape. Then I discovered that if I aim the air in the front of the tubing and lean my index finger over the air flow, it will draw the copper disk back up the tube making a funny sound. After a bit I found by aiming the air tangentiallly into the intake and modulating the air flow by interferring with the flow with a finger that rides on top of the air flow, that I can cause the copper disk or "reed" to chase up and down the tube making a funny sound like some clown might have a use for. I can't remember what you might call such an instrument, but the sound is modulated in a comical way, just depending on how much my finger rides on top of the air flow from the air nozzle. There must be some sort of eddy current set up in the tube for it makes the most screechy, interesting sound and the disk of copper rides near instantaneously up and down on the feedback I induce. It's a lot of fun to cause the disk to vacillate in direction so suddenly and the sound of course equally interesting.
Funny how I was only trying to dust out my computer and ended up toying with air in a tube. The little copper cap really flies up and down, it being so thin and light.
Mark
In the tube on the right in the second picture you can see the little copper cap that gets caught up in the air flow, so responsively. The quartz tube is a little less than 2 feet long, 11/16ths of an inch wide. The quartz tube has a copper reducer/fitting and a piece of copper foil to snug it onto the tubing in case you were wondering what the heck you are looking at. It is just an attempt to make a straight-tubed pulsejet still in the works. ha

This is the effect I am getting with my copper cap or "piston" in a quartz glass tube, the effect similar to a slide flute/whistle. By lifting or lowering my finger into the air flow I can cause the light copper cap to dart back and forth making sharp quirky sounds. Normally, I would hold the tip of the nozzle right up against the side of the copper fitting on the front, but the scan just shows you the general idea. It's a strange feedback and resonance that you can produce this way.
Another thing I would like to try is a spinning disk. I remember my sister had this keychain that was heart-shaped and you flicked the inner heart with your finger. On either side of the heart, it just looked like hieroglyphics, until you spun it you saw the words "I Love You". I guess it would be funny if you could get a spinning a valve to work on a pulsejet and have it spell out something deep and meaningful, or something quirky.

Mark:

You may have stumble on a good thing! You seemed to be able to cause a disc to rotate in a cylinder...This could in it's self make a valve of sorts.

What do you think of this Idea??

I do not have a CAD program Just Paint.....Not to Skilled at that!

This could be the answer to longer life in a small Valved Pulse Jet! Do You

think the intake and shock wave heading out the tail pipe would set up a

Oscillation and feed it's self to self sustain????
