Afterburner

For an afterburner do you still need a flame holder or flame tube?

What exactly do you mean. If you are asking if a afterburner mounted on the exhaust jet pipe would mean you don't need the flame tube your wrong. First you have to get a running jet then you add the afterburner on to the jetpipe to increase thrust.
