Re: M500 build log
Just wondering, do you happen to have any plans on this? It just looks awesome.
Re: M500 build log
Svarthalet Racing found one that didn't break. The local Seismographs should be able to tell you the frequency. It's been good watching this come together. be safe, and use chain.
Re: M500 build log
I contacted them before, They said they used a hunting scale. The Netherlands isn't realy a hunting country so they're kinda hard to find. On the positive side, I just found out that an uncle has a nice beefy generater I can borrow whenever I like! one less hurdle.PyroJoe wrote:Svarthalet Racing found one that didn't break.

Re: M500 build log
Thanks, but the Amazon one can't be shipped to the Netherlands, apparently. Because reasons.
googling "hunting scale" or the Dutch translation doesn't realy yield any usefull hits. are there synonyms I can use?

Re: M500 build log
I had a Chatillion "spring" or "hanging" fish scale that went up to 50 pounds, not that you would probably want that particular scale. Maybe try veerbalans or opknoping schaal if that's the translation. Going out on a limb here using Google translation.

Just got this cranescale in the mail. Pretty cool. Will measure in pounds, kg and Newton. 100 gram resolution and 300kg capacity

Re: M500 build log
I am afraid, 300 kg will not last

Re: M500 build log
I tested the engine and It runs. That's the good news.
We tested the engine for a good part of the afternoon but had no luck. lots of growling and close runs but no lock-in. The sound wasn't as bad as I though so I tried manually starting by just holding the leafblower by hand and using only LPG. After a bit of fiddling with the Rosscojector, it finally started, loud as *, even stationairy, but the rosscojector decided to come loose and burn my arms and neck. borderline 2nd degree burns all over (but not quite luckily) rather painfull.
Anyway, redesign the injectors, rethink the "start from a distance" and try again in a couple of weeks probably
Here's the video, Just the "good" part. I'll make a longer video some other time with the start-up bangs and huge smokeplumes and shit

I'm glad it ran, that was a lot of work you put into it. Time is the only thing I've found to relieve burns.

Aw, man, that's an awesome noise it made just before it decided to go all "burninate".
Burns are bad news. Hope they repair nicely.

Ouch, burns are nasty specially with this hot summer days. I wish it heals well for you.
Besides that it's looking you're nearly there
