will this design work or not

Post by ganuganu » Sat May 21, 2011 1:35 pm

hello everybody,i have made a simple pulsejet design to make use of the things found in my house and i thought of not to waste it..so iam going to make a simple pulsejet tomorrow..if you guys think this design is k,i will weld everything together..here is the design..

note: in this design can i push the intake pipe to some cm(4 or 5) into the cc or not..and in this design i use only one intake..After completing this design i will start making my big engine..please say me if i have to correct any dimension in my design, because iam eager to make a running model of my own design..thank you..

Sorry, no one here has a pulse jet calculator that makes a green light when you enter the right dimensions. This layout is the most forgiving of all, and will probably work fine, one you've got some proper flares at the ends of the tubes, and reliable fueling and spark.

You could use a torch to make a hotspot on the cc wall

yes, like the size of a quarter or something like that.

Alternatively, you could put a torch at the end of the tailpipe and try to get the flame in the cc like that

I have just started building pj's and found that it is real simple to just light the injector at the intake, let it heat the cc for a moment and slowly apply air. What has worked best is when I cut my 1/4" OD copper injectors (2) with tin snips at a slight angle. It will look like there is no way that you will get enough propane through them but that just increases your pressure pulling in the right amount of air for starting. When I have it right it will explode when I put the torch to it and almost start up without adding air. Good luck! Be sure and post a video if you can.

my cc length is about 12.5cm and intake length is about 10cm and tail pipe length is 65cm..does the cc and intake length affect the performance of the engine..

i can hear a good growling sound when i keep the blower at the intake but doesnt start..so i have decided to use the full length(35inches) MS pipe which i bought earlier for this design..lets see what happens.. :)
