How small is to small.

Post by rob 636 » Sat Apr 28, 2007 6:08 am

hello

I have been looking at this site over the last month or so.

How small can you make a valveless to where it can still work, but be under 2 feet or so. I would like to have this on a desk for show and once and a wile for making loud noises. :)

I dont know if ithis counts as a pulse jet but a peice of copper pipe with the front end smashed smaller and also down a little more to form a combustion chamber it looks nothing like the kazoo. It has no thrust and does make a little noise but does get very hot. It was a bordom thing i just smashed out and does seem to run off a propane torch by shooting fuel into it.

Smallest I've heard of was a 4 inch valveless that would run on Hydrogen at about 2000Hz. If I recall it gave damn all thrust but make a VERY loud noise and got bright, cherry-red hot.

I think the pipewood will work well for what I want. Its somthing that looks fairly easy for me.

Can somthing like that run off a 400gm propane bottle

VERY small

There was a paper posted here a while back that described a valveless PJ that was 8cm long. Thats VERY small.

I'd imagine you could build one that was 30 to 50 cm without too much trouble.

I have no welding skills and I don't know of anyone who would trust me with a welder. I like the lockwood and the "lady Anne Boleyn" that larry has.

All I am looking for is somthing that makes noise and acts like a pulsejet.
