thermojet
Nice engine, it probably isn’t that loud because of the small inlets.
I you make them bigger it will be louder for sure.
Or put some more on it, a total of four or maybe six of that size will run I think.
Don’t do that only on my advise, I don’t guarantee anything!.

[/url]Hey Guys, got me a new bottle today and tuned the regualtor a bit and now im getting full power out of the engine. Thrust must be between 6 to 8 kg, It was pushing the rim over the floor a bit! And damn, now it IS loud...
Can anyone estimate the frequency of both runs please? I flared the intakes today and added a starting air line.
So, have fun with the vid!

MAG: Looks Good! Sound and running like a different animal now! It looked like your air line may have been effecting the one intake a little.
What is the overall lenght of it?
What are you going to do with it? Use it as a test bed? Practical?
I see you retired STOOLIE!

HZ count
Jim.
If I want to do a quick HZ count, I use the demo version of DesktopRTA.
You can download it here.
http://www.4pockets.com/product_info.php?p=48
for more analysing I use other Programz.

5.5" is nothing :)
I have a 20" diameter 1/4" wall steel pipe about 20' long that is waiting to be turned into a pulsejet :D
I am thinking that maybe I should just permanantly convert the 300 pounder valved engine into a thermojet, or maybe a straight tailed chinese. Its a little short for a chinese, the thermojet may work better, but the combustion chamber angle is not great enough to effectively use 2 intakes. As a valved engine it is just too damn loud and uses about 10 bucks of spring steel for the valves which it eats like crazy.
Heres a pic of the monster, and a little dynajet for size comparison, has about 2" of clearance from the ceiling.

NICE! What kind of valve grid did you use for this one? That thing must be loud as hell! My little valved was louder then my big thermojet so yours must be hell!
I made plans for a valved engine with about 15cm cc dia. With an Argus grid (real argus grid, made from several parts and bolted together, like the one on the solar engine) but havent found anyone who mills the parts for not too much money.
P.S. do you have a vid of it running?

It has a double V valve grid, no video of it, i had a sony cd cam at the time and could no longer get cds for a while when they decided to stop making them. Hearing protection does jack, even with ear plugs and ear muffs, your body absorbs so much sound that you just hear it through your body and not your ear canals. Plus it eats the valves like crazy and uses about 4' of spring steel a shot. I didnt order more of the heavy spring steel to replace the valves and as a valved engine its just too loud. Makes one hell of an echo though, whole bunch of people though a plane was crashing.

Thats the one I want on my 16ft john boat!!!! I could shock the fish to the serfice and just scoop them up! NOT!! That was a big mama!! To bad we can't come up with a better valve system! How long did the valves last? One hour? One one 1/3 that size on the snow board could be wild!
