I put a carburetor from 2 cycle boat motor on a pulse jet engine about 20 years ago and it worked fine. The best part is the fuel air mixture is already correct and the float makes it easy to use gasoline. Open the throttle and start the engine and it runs great.

It's been a while.

Tim36 did this about a year and half ago. See his thread, Carbie style fuel delivery, for some details on his experiments.
