Sweet! We'll be able to tell when the beer is getting warm.

See folks, I told you we'd have the cooling issues handled...

Who knows, if we get one going next year (Change of venue to the UK maybe?) then I will definately come, and might actually have built my first engine in what, 3 years of being part of this community? Haha.

You can study on the plane! Really, it's only 3-4 days away from studying...

Trust me, I'd love to, but meet my parents and you'll see that isn't an option *sobs*. Next year, I solomnly swear. I'll be there with an engine and a keg/crate of good beer. Deal?

I can see this developing into an annual event -- maybe switching between the US and Europe?

Does anyone have an idea on what propane company we should approach to give us sponsorhip for the event in the future?

The ideal venue for the thing that will not be invitational in nature would be an airstrip with a motel very close.

Hello Mike E. and all.

Sorry for tardy reply- buggers back-hoed the fiber-optic cable a
half-mile from the shack. Rural Arizona! Just came back up.

I think it's just swell that guys who have been communicating over the
wires for years can finally have a chance to meet in person, as a group
and have time to enjoy the thing and have some fun.

As for me, my shop re-do is taking muck longer than it should.
Steve B. rolled cones and domes for my FWE/Reynst experiment and
they will be here any day, but I won't be able to do any work in the
shop for another week, anyway. Waiting (and waiting....) on
electrical now.

So, I'm out of time, but that's o.k., I think it's a better deal having the
first meet be a semi-private affair anyhow. You guys have earned it,
as I see it.

Of course, we all will want pics, vids, audio, data readouts, and Bruno
sketches (He's bringing paper and pencils- happy to hear that) and
anecdotes and jokes etc. etc. And while you're all together, you might
want to kick around some ideas for the next one. Even if it were only
six monthes from now, a lot more guys would be prepared, and with
running engines too, I'm thinkin'.

Now, y'all just have yourselves a grand ol' time, have a few for me,
and I'll catch ya on the go-around

Hi, Mike

I just wonder if you closed the list of participants or you still have some opening for more..

Since I am in early development of my pulse jets expertise, posibility
to ask questions and learn few more tricks is very appealing to me.
Particulary when such thing is in the "neighborhood".

I am extremely self sufficiant in camping needs, transportatipon and
other means of survival on my own. And I would be comming alone.

Last time, you asked if I know RG. No. I don't.

Please, let me know .

Bruno Ogorelec,

I thank you for your kind and encouraging words about
Czech engineering. Currenty I got stuck with ignition problems -
Ford Model T coil went bad ( hope I can replace it with some electronic gadget ).
The engine run only short time on eather or methanol - have problem with propane. More testing is needed.

Thanks,

Edward

Ed, re: spark
The quick option is go to an appliance repair shop and buy the cheapest spark module for a gas range they've got. It's AC for home use, and you're a cheap cigarette lighter auto inverter away from being portable. This has never let me down. There will be no lack of sparks at the meet, too, so bring your engine for sure!

Ed, you are now on the offline pj meet mailing list. So is Kenneth, who may be able to come. I hope so, Ken!

Well Luc and I were discussing hosting the event next year if people would be interested, we would shut down for the period and throw open the workshop and test area.

We have room for camping or there is a good motel 14 Km away in Roberval, a full workshop with welding and machining facilities, metal spinning and so on, also a five hundred gallon propane tank for fuel.

And probably the most usefull thing we have is an industrial zoning for the workshop and test area, so no noise production problems.

Add to this we are doing the final touches to a profesional grade thrust stand with datalogging for most aspects of pulse jets.

Any way I throw that in to the pot for people to ponder over for next years event

Mike Everman,

Thank you kindly, yes, the rocket stays home.
( Originaly I thought that was going to be big flying extravaganza )
Now , I fully understand that it is on private property of the friend of yours.
And I fully understand your concerns. Have no plans to dissapoint you.

I will bring one chinese valveless, tank of propane and some kind of igniter,
( will look at suggsted gas gril igniter ) also a big notepad and camera.

I drive a large European van for camping, that is going to be all my presence.

Thank you again !

Don't worry too much about the igniter--I'll be bringing mine (fits Mike's description perfectly)--and I'm betting Mike is bringing his too. Alligator clips will make it a universal fit.

Sorry, I got waylayed and didn't respond. Here it is then, "YAY!" I'll be there!
One time is better than another for me, and that is I think july-august, as we have a family of friends to visit in Nova Scotia, who vacation there every year. Hoping it works out that way, so I can bring the whole fam.
