Any more progress on your software code? I'm working on a solid fuel ram jet and looking for some assistance with a design code. Was wondering if yours would be good start point. I will need to add a burn rate calculation to replace liquid fuels. I plan to start with thrust augmentation design based...

Great suggestions, links and advice, really appreciated. Yes I agree getting the initial thrust well be a challenge. I plan to experiment with small motors combinations first. I like the nozzle exchange idea I will have to research that further. I will attempt to fabricate and integrate a mass flow ...

I have never experienced the Krusnic effect. I believe you and others make a valid point and do not doubt that it exists. However I have seen evidence to the contrary that suggest it may not be as pervasive or unavoidable as some suggest. Check out the construction zone article in the Sep-Oct 07 Ext...

Ducted Ejector Ram Rocket Solid Fuel
Anyone ever experiment with this concept? Small fuel rich rocket motor entrains additional atmospheric air in larger Ramjet tube = zero speed ramjet. No turbine required= high ISP and thrust. Ignition of a central solid fuel rich /oxidizer rocket fuel grain located in the intake diffuser section pit...

re: fit a ramjet to a model rocket?
It can be done at the smaller scale only you would have to make your own solid fuel ram jet rocket motor. It would use just enough solid oxidizer (concentrated around the propellant core) to get it up and moving then the when the oxidizer at the foreward end burns through it would allow atmospheric ...

re: Air Turbo Rocket ATR
The KJ-66 at 18 Ibs thrust is in the ball park of what I need. Thanks for the link to the plans and other suggestions from others as well. I think I may be able to use turbine parts of the KJ-66. The air augmented rocket uses the turbine to compress oxygen for the augmented rocket cycle. This reduce...

Air Turbo Rocket ATR
Sounds like what most of you need is an Air Turbo Rocket ATR. With ATR you get the best of both turbines and ramjets. ATR uses a gas generator burning a rich fuel mixture liquid or solid fueled to drive a turbine for low speed acceleration until the ramjet sequence kicks in. The fuel rich gas then i...
