Re: "under bonnet gas turbine engine"

Hi! Have a look at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/DIYGasTurbines/ and the flatmobile. There are other good designs of GT engines and many very good people that will and can help you in your quest to build a GT engine. John "racketmotorman" it the GURU on these things, he have helped many people ...

Swept blades

SAAB used the same type of blades on their SAAB 2000 back in 1992...

But not 10K worth of horses =)

I personnaly like the "banana" style over plain straight blades...

The external air tank that I made earlier seems to work by the way. I filled the tank with 5.5 psi and after the start the pressure had dropped to 2 psi, the tank is stamped at 25 psi so if I fill it up to 10 psi I might get two starts out of it... I hope that it´s 25 bar or kg/cm² and not PSI!? ...

Re: throttle

I know that the radient heat from the combustor at higher P2´s will soften the hoses, but it will take some work before I can run the engine at those pressures so until then I will stick to the old 20 psi fuel hoses. [/i][/color] The hoses act as an accumulator (not much but it does) by switching ...

Hi Horace!

Is the results correct?

You have 136k RPM for a, 12,5k RPM for b and 10,5k RPM for c!

Work is coming along nicely. A few setbacks, timewise, with getting the turbine shaft back from my turbo builder. The postal service apparently didnt' want to drop it off to him so he had to go pick it up himself. My order through Grizzly for some tooling also came incomplete which has stalled the ...

Now I remember why I decided not to weld on a rod!! The id of the turbine is gonna be .25 inches, I dont feel comfortable on welding on a thinner rod to something that is going to take a lot of force during lathe work. No need for welding a rod to the disk... Make a center hole in the disk and use ...
