pulse jet valves

The best way to make a few valves is by etching them out much easier than trying to cut them by hand especially if you want more than one. I got mine cnc cut due to the fact I wanted a few hundred done... To do the etching try Bruce Simpsons method http://aardvark.co.nz/pjet/makevalves1.pdf I just h...

Mark very nice valves 8) The first I tried making were by using the etching method. Being not very good with figures etc I just hooked up the 12 volt gel cell and waited till the valve was cut this took about 10 minutes. I set up the salt bath so I could do 4 valves at a time and after an hour had 2...

Eric you will have to bore out the holes in the flow jector to about 1.5mm and the metering jet will have to be about 1.5mm as well or 58 thou which ever you have to run methanol.

Zannin jet

The simple answer is the RC version which has the cover at the front restricts the air coming in the front so it is a constant pressure so the engine is able to be throttled witin reason by varing the fuel mixture in the front. The control line / speed version doesnt need to be throttled so doesnt n...

Mark you are probably right that they will run without a intake maybe an Idea for the valveless guys to get them running on liquid fuel. But with these gases they valved jets go faster with a big hole in front to suck plenty of fresh air  But of course we are restricted by the modeling rule...

If I remember rightly the bailey tube is 15 thou stainless thats without measuring my bailey's. The Bailey Fastjet will produce 10 pounds of thrust on a good day with the 20% propylene oxide 80% methanol. This is on the ground but in the air I am sure it increases when the engine comes on the pipe a...

Irvine we used to run the White gas fuel but as you will find out shortly it is harder to start and will stop at the drop of a hat! Try using a methanol based fuel Easier to start and will keep on going. We have used 80% methanol and 20% Nitromethane we great success. I am currently using 80% Methan...

Mark we seat our valves with WD40 with no problems at all. Keeps the rust away and always starts even if the jet has been sitting around for a while.

Jerry when running a pressure engine the reeds need to seal perfectly or else the engine will not start. Also on the sport engines we have the engine sealing perfectly as well and they start consistantly 1st to 2nd pump. If the the reeds do not seal the engine is a lot harder to start and will run s...

Larry I think somebody better make a plane and fly it so we can see what the possibilities are with the valveless??? they only have that rule for the speed comps why not go out and have some fun with a modified stunter ??? Would have enough wing area to take the small propane tank :o) But i will sti...

Yes the flyin site is a lot of fun. I hope to be out there doing more jet flights over easter. And hopefully more videos Now some more notes on the fast jet. The hole in the front is huge compared to the sport jet and will never run on suction because of it. Also the retainer has 2mm more lift. this...
