Re: Lopsided spraybar

One time I sprayed some methanol into a Dynajet and then screwed the head on, holding the jet in one hand and lighting it with a Bic lighter in the other at the tail to see it it would rev up. I also sprayed some alcohol in the intake too with a finger pump sprayer bottle. After 2 or 3 tries it roar...

I had no idea there were arc lighters! Ding, The More You Know There's a bevy of interesting variations of these convenient USB rechargeable arc lighter shapes and demonstrations on youtube. This little augmenter or similar shapes if held in the exhaust of the paintball snorkelers makes some kind of vortex street or cavitation that will absolutely blast your eardrums. A strange phenomenon to behold. Happy holidays too! http://www.pulse-jets.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3210&start=1530...

Re: Odds and ends

I saw these high temperature combustion quartz tubes and couldn't help but muse what if squirting some methanol in them, how would they rev up or not.

I always wondered why the water slowly rises in a bottle and then so suddenly the vacuum collapse occurs. Note the cloud just before the collapse.

Re: Mike's Build Log

Mike, the one with the leaky fitting is a bit fussy and the best way to fuel it is to put the least amount of fuel in it, just enough to barely cover the bottom and then screw the snorkel on as best you can and stand it upright to light it and so you don't leak fuel out the reducer by fueling it ass...

Re: youtube

What I thought was interesting is how light and how long the pulsejet was, it looked like 33.73 grams, but I couldn't tell which measurement was the thickness of the shim stock he used to roll and weld it to make tubing? I wonder how thin you could make a small jet like that? It seemed about 70 cm l...

Re: youtube

Here's an interesting construction. The plans look similar to the Russian book copy Don Laird sent me years ago. I suggested he try methanol. He wrote me back "The thickness of the valves did not fit, I ordered another material."

Re: Odds and ends

I noticed this 2 liter size is listed for $210.00 and probably shipping costs. Being curious I decided to try that shape having found 4 of them (same Kimble 28040 flask) for sale for $34.00 each or best offer on eBay, new old stock so I bought one along with free shipping. The square flask is 5 X 5 ...
