Loco, you guys don't happen to be on the IOW do you?? Ha, that old fool at the end was the best part. Some people just don't realise the amount of effort it takes just to get these things to 'POP' It probably reminded him of the war, doodle bugs et.al.!!! I'm based along the coast in Shoreham, just ...

Adam, I don't think that just increasing the dimensions by say 2X or 4X will produce a running motor. I seem to remember this question being asked quite frequently. I'm sure one of the other guys with a working formula will be along soon. To be honest, I tend to stick to proven plans from Eric et al...

Welcom to the forum John, I think you'll have some interesting 'chats' with some of the other members. Not me though, I tend to err on the side of 'does it work - great'!

Loco, the best place to search for curved/bent tubing would be dairy suppliers. Presuming you want s/steel? Generally the 90 degree bends are cheaper than a full curve, all down to the bending I'm told. If you can contact Steve Wallington on the forum, he may be able to help. The guy works with s/st...

re: my first Lockwood Hiller pulsejet

Berry, the part I found the funniest was the guy 30feet away is trying to stop his ears exploding and yet the guy standing right next to the p/jet is moer worried about playing with the gas valve!! Great stuff.

re: Thermalpulse 180

Eric, I'll try and use the heavy duty rubber mounts from car/lorry exhaust systems to provide restraint and allow for some movement due to expansion etc. on the mounting brackets. The coil is for use with liquid propane to see if it will 'boost' power but I'm just waiting on Steve to 'knock up' a gu...

re: Thermalpulse 180

M, I'll certainly try to post video when we have it running. Havn't tried that before on any forum, so I may need a 'prod' in the right direction. I'll also try and get a cheapo sound level meter to give some idea of the noise output - it will probably overload though! Thanks for the positive commen...

Thermalpulse 180

ANOTHER short trip to Bristol, and it has arrived. After seeing some of Steve Wallington's handywork(repairing my over-eagerness with the full power runs) I decided to commission him to build me one of these little beauties. I cannot claim any glory for this build, it's all Steve's own work and swea...

re: 50lb Lockwood Collapse

Eric, can't seem to find the info from camera, sorry. We'll get some more shots on the next test run using a better camera. Just as another aside, is it feasable to run these engines on liquid fuel such as petrol. Just a thought as the jet will soon find a new home on a two wheeled mode of transport...

re: 50lb Lockwood Collapse

Just a couple of shots looking into the c/chamber.

Can anyone tell me what the circle is forming inside the c/chamber. It's not from the injector as that is just a pipe with the end crimped?

re: 50lb Lockwood Collapse

Well, after another 'short' trip over to Bristol and meeting Steve Wallington. A session of 'cut and shut' followed. Then bacon and egg rolls(Nick's wife must be used to us by now)! tea and chocolate cake and lots of chat about pj's. After waiting for some good weather, it was down to the beach for ...
