cone layout help

i used the cone layout software to make a cone..now i dont know how to save the 2d projected file,if i save it in dxf format iam able to open in cad but i cant see any cone layout,just a plain sheet in the screen..this is the cone which i did..

Try changing the background color in your cad. Maybe the lines are now same as background.

Some drafting programs have 2 separate environments, typically one is "paper space" and the other "model space".

Generally the .DXF opens in model space, and will not be seen in paper space, not sure if that is the problem, but is worth looking into.

thanks joe now i have got it in CAD,how do i take printout do i have to divide the design into four parts or what should i do now..Do i have to set limits or anything..

If the printer is accurate, all that is needed is to plot with a scale 1:1. Here is the plot screen, the scale information is boxed in red. In the PLOT AREA, i typically use window, then preview what I selected to insure it catches the overlap marks.

I typically divide the pattern on centerline to make it easier to use. If a large printer is not available, I put marks on the overlap of each paper, so they can be aligned.

after the edges and the centerline have been traced with a pencil or marker, the template can be flipped 180 degrees on the centerline.
