I can think of a couple of ways to make it more scalable, if you add a flapper valve.

This was interesting how the flame front doesn't advance up the tube with even with mixed pure O2 and methane, being so narrow. And the flexible diaphragm with the combustion going on. Still he's not going to be able to carry/compress much pure O2 and CH4 if he sticks with that design. It reminded me of the simple tiny valveless pulsejets which often defeat the purpose, and have an ungainly tank to run them.
