'smart advertising' comes to the forum

I thought this has been happening before, but I thought I was just tired and imagining things - a sort of coincidence. No longer do I feel this way.

Any of you watch the flic Minority Report?

It's been a while, but I remember a scene where Cruise walked into a building where smart bill boards were reading his mind and putting up tailored advertisements especially for him to see.

Well, lately I've been sensing something like this happening on the forum.

On another thread digital audio player - track order play problem I wrote about having a problem with my Let It Bleed mp3s playing out of song list order on my RCA portable player.

Well, this got posted at the bottom of the thread the very next time I visited the thread.



A robot is reading threads, looking for keywords and accessing a database for advertising.

I am posting what is on my mind at the time. Something is reading what I write or read and trying to sell me something based on this.

I find it all kind of … spooky.
