Re: local "car cruise" pics, REBUILD
Decades ago, I filmed a friend of mine trail riding his Bultaco. I will never forget that bike -- it was the most elegantly simple bike I have ever seen in my life. Almost a wonder of minimalism, which I found very appealing. The "perfect" dirt bike, if there can ever be such a thing. Amazing!
I still use that 15-minute silent film as the best example of my supposed ability as a film editor. That was real film, of course (1970s) -- I wish I had a video copy of it. Some of the footage was taken on the bike, of course. That was pretty exciting, even though the speeds were not all that great.

I guess two strokes may become another relic of the past.
I still have 4, 2-stroke minicycles.
Early last spring I did a little work on the 175 Kaw to see if it would run. Mind you a fellow gave this to me (it was standing outside in the elements) when I bought his goKart.
In the mid 70's, I rode the roads in S. Calif. on a Yamaha 250 Enduro that I resurrected from the dead here in Pa. I could bypass a lot of the traffic on the way home from work by riding on the side of the road ... back in the good ol' days.

- removed the spark plug and squirted some oil in the bore
- cranked it a couple of times with my foot to listen to the piston move in the barrel
- cranked it a couple of times with my foot to watch the spark jump (magneto) across the plug business end
- put the plug back in and pulled the starboard cover off to inspect the carb. I have never seen machined surfaces on such an old mikuni sparkle so much. I cleaned a bunch of bug debris off and out, lubed the slide and squirted a couple of shots of 'ether' behind it.
- cranked the engine again with my foot and quickly heard the familiar 'ring ding ding ding' and then quit. I had the fuel tank disconnected since I have to clean the rust out of it first.
