Stainless and Aluminum One Piece Weldless Augmenters
Hey everyone,
Im now offering a wide number of sizes and styles of thrust augmenters, from 1" - 3.5" in stainless and aluminum. They are one piece, formed from tubing for a seamless smooth inner surface.
They can be custom made to your specs or made based off specs for the production engines. The intake flare radii and curve profile can be varied for either a round intake lip to more of an annular wing configuration, which seems to perform better than a simple curve.
For more aerodynamic augmenters an exterior shell can be connected from the front lip to the back of the flare, cutting down turbulence.
They can be provided by themselves so you can mount them, or mounting arm(s) can be welded on that can be attached to the engine for adjustment, or even welded in place at the best location.
Typical thrust gains are in the 40-80% range with no additional fuel consumption or moving parts. Heres a picture of two 2" augmenters in stainless.

Hey, cool. I'll take two. hmmm, my pocket jet tubes are .93" dia internal, both exits. I had figured I'd need augmenters that were approximately 3" inlet dia. Any idea how the 2" ones would do? I got 40% extra out of the original pocket jet with simple flared inlet, straight 2" tube augmenters (no diffusion, and rather short at that). That motor had the tail at .93" and the intake at .68 ID.

Mike any idea on the exhaust velocity on the little pocket jet? The higher the velocity the longer they should be, expanded tails get diminishing returns after a fairly short augmenter length because the velocity is lower.
A 2" core diameter augmenter, with intake flare diameter of 2.5" and a 2.4" dia diffuser section would probably be just about right for a .93" exhaust. Probably wouldnt want it to be much more than 2.25" core ID.
Though I guess if its just for static you could go up to 3"...

Static is the idea. It's the motor that I'm getting 3.5 lb out of now. I'd guess about 100+ m/sec.

2.0-2.2" ID should be optimal then. Maybe around 7" long.
Whats the distance between the intake and exhaust centerline? Basically the flare size will be limited by how much room there is between.

Intake and exhaust centerline distance is 3". Here's how far I got. I think I put in a constraint that the inlet flare would be the same OD as the exit, so a straight outer shroud would go on later if necessary. These shown are 57mm inlets, and 4deg half angle on the flares. I'll take whatever you recommend, however.

That looks like solid works, Mikes been known to dabble in that evil program.
Here's a 2" low profile augmenter with adjustable mount for one of the 4lb thermojets. Should put out +40% static, becoming a bit more efficient at speed.

Heres a pic of the finished thermojet running with the augmenter. Self starts even with the augmenter in place.
