G360 CONCEPT

Post by GRIM » Wed Aug 06, 2008 6:19 pm

Here’s a concept , Chinese and thermo versions, no dims just ideas, I can see some potential advantages and some disadvantages, the question is would the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

Any comments welcome

Thanks all for the replies ,
I have this dream that the entrained air will actually cool the combustion chamber, thus heating the air , etc, etc,
Dreams are fine , hot metal is another thing , we shall see.

Looking good! Cant tell in the pic. but is the rear CC wall conical to spread the exhaust around the engine? or is it flat which I think is going to nagate the exhaust thrust almost completely? :?

Hi Chadley , the front dome plate is semi domed about 1/3 sphere , I was tempted to do a cone but settled on domed because i think it will dissipate heat better , but i am still not sure i made the right choice , will try it as is , then maybe put a cone on , lots of unknowns here, will be interesting .

To me, it starts to remind me of the shape of those wave engines seen in Foa's book, Elements of Flight Propulsion, if anyone out there has a copy, especially the way the smaller port curves off the combustion chamber. Of course it's not a wave engine, but it sure looks like it's going in that direction. Foa's book also has a nice chapter on pulsejets. After Reynst's book, I guess that it's the next best book on pulsejets, if it is the same edition. Seems there were a few volumes or maybe not, I can't remember? I would ask the seller if you wanted to buy this book.

Some photos of progress so far, PIGLET, ha
The augmenter looks way big , but is actually smaller than the theoretical size according to the NASA report and Bruno’s paper ,
Testing will tell.
