New I.A.E: the Talon Dreadnought

This is the new Irvine Airopulse Engine: the Talon Dreadnought. I made it becuase James had some sort of whiny excuse, something about his hand or something. You might of noticed it's fucking HUGE. After completion, It should push out a theoreticall 100 pounds of thrust, give or take - if I live to see it to max power that is.

Still needs the tailpipe and CC plate and some serious leak management but that should not take to long. I also have to fix up some sort of fueling rig for this thing.

I take absolutely no credit for the design of this engine. It is all done by James Irvine and he has put considerable time into doing so, thanks alot mate!......also if it doesn't run or I die, blame him :D joke joke!!

I asked him to use 3 intakes on this one, it would seem the best cross of mixing, drag, and containment, i think theres something oddly nice in the look of those 3 intakes... Its "The Vibe"...

That pic of you on the bike with the propane tank under your arm reminds me all to much of myself....... Please mount it somehow

When you get the thing up to speed it will be hard to control the bike without having to worry about holding on to or throttling a propane tank.

Looks great, bet your neighbors will hate it!

Personally, I'd be more worried about bleeding from the other body parts it appears to be in close proximity to in the bicycle shot. Looks like a surefire "brown note generator" candidate to me.

lol, the day I mount that thing on a bike is the day easter, Pentecost and christmas all fall on my bithday in a leap year :P

The Talon is more or less finished now. I've added the frontplate from 2 mm SS, witch is not domed but reinforced with some thick steel wire. I left out the tailpipe for now. Reason for this is that I have tested the engine with 1 crappy roscojector and actually had it locked in twice for about a second

Now a normal liquid fueling system is added. should be able to test it next week. The movie shows me testing the engine on the rosco. it did not lock in but gave a good roar. Added some pics of the fueling system.

So I got around to testing the dreadnought and it ran hard!. No problems starting it. first ignited on gas and then switched to liquid to get it running. my tank was pretty empty so I maybe got it to 65% full throtle. The tank is completely dry now though :P

No pictures or a movie from the engine yet though, no equipment was available. I did went back to make some snapshots of the carnage this thing inflicted on the grass. I'll fill up the tank and see if I can get a better run in next week, with a camera.
