Mike E in UK
Had a great afternoon yesterday. Graham picked me up at Heathrow and we sped off to Nick's. Checked my motors on without a hitch; next worry will be getting them to Zurich, then home.
Nick and Judy have been unparalleled hosts. Thier neighbor drove us to a great pub in his Rolls, and Steve Wallington met us there. We ran his micro thermo-jet in the parking lot, then had to apologize to all eating dinner when we ran my 3" straight piper. Steve was duly impressed with the Rosscojector start.
Steve also gave me that superb thermojet! Not sure I deserve such a gift, but he insisted. What a craftsman that guy is.
Many brews and laughs later, my internal clock is totally f-ed up. ;-Z
All day burning planned. Best weather possible for it.

Damn, some people have all the luck.
Have a good time, Mike. (As if you need to be told.)
I wonder what the Dept. of Homeland Security will make of your engines when you return. Dairy equipment? Garage heaters? Mosquito foggers?

After a mad weekend Mike has been safely delivered back to the airport.
Many thanks to Nick and Judy for all the time you spent and your endless generosity.
'Steve you’re an artist in metal'. We are all so impressed with your work. Starting that mini in the Pub car park - Hmm. The sound of 2 mini Lockwoods running almost in sinc is never to be forgotten.
Have a good Trip Mike. Great to meet you.
Graham.

Mike : where did you go! I worked at RAF Uxbridge for about 4.5 years.
It was only about 3 miles from Heathrow AirPort.

Well, I'm finally through most of the jet-lag. My sincerest thanks to Graham and Nick for hosting, and to Steve Wallington for the gift of his micro thermojet. I'm not worthy!
You'll be pleased to know it made it to Zurich, back to London and back to the states, so apparently there is no problem travelling with hollow tubes with spark-plugs in them!
Steve, you're quite humble for such a gifted builder, man.
Getting two identical Lockies in phase was a rare experience!
I look forward to hosting you guys some day!

Damn, not only I wasn't there, but someone stole my minivan and used it! Steve? Nick? Graham? Own up. Mike, does the thing have the steering wheel on the left or right? That will be the clincher.
That test site by the water looks fantastic. Almost beats the Babcock vineyard.
Guys, looks like you've had some fun. Good for you. I really wish such meets could be held on the annual basis. The cross-pollination is so much greater than what we are getting through the forum, terrific as that is.

Jonny69.Just outside London - South or North? I live near Blackheath. I'd be happy to car share with anyone with a motor.
