Bruno
It is great to see that you got the latest version.
Just downloaded it and paged through to make sure I had it all.
Serious reading will have to wait until I have some down time while traveling in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to it.
Keep up the good work.

We all thank you for putting such paper together and keeping it up
to date. A great work !
I have read right through without any brake. It is easy to read despite
many many technical informations and details. Super !

re: Valveless Pulsejets 1.5 -- the latest version
Wow, thank you guys for the kind words. No sticks and stones? I expected to be slammed by critics over disputable details.
But then, it's probably too early for that. When it all sinks in is when the shit will hit the fan. (Or maybe 'hit the diffuser'; I forgot we have no movable parts here.)
Anyway, lots of effort there. I've really been sweating on it to balance the picture as much as I could, include all the relevant info I had at hand, yet avoid going out on a limb too much.
I hoped I'd have 3D renderings of most of the key engines but it was not to be. I have not even started on Solidworks yet -- looks like it'll wait for my retirement :o( -- and didn't want to bother anyone else. All the bright young boys looked like being too busy. So, it's mostly flat pictures. Maybe in version 1.6.
Thanks again for going easy on me.

re: Valveless Pulsejets 1.5 -- the latest version
Bruno,
Feel free to use any of the pics on my website or my old site with the valved engine renders. As long as you have a little citation here and there I am happy. Hopefully ill get some more of the thermojet pics soon.
Im usually pretty buisy but if you want 3d renders as long as you dont want inner detail I can do an engine in like 15 seconds, with inner detail and everything it might take me a minute or two.
If you have a html version I could make a page on my website to host it for you.
Eric

Thanks, Eric, I might take advantage of your kind offer. No, internals are usually not very important, as you know, There's little about valveless engines that's hidden from sight except for fueling arrangements.Eric wrote:Bruno,

As for the html version, I am a complete dummy. What I can do is save the Word document as html and mail it to you. It will look ugly, though, and I would have to ask you to edit it to make it look better. Would that work for you or is it too much trouble?

I agree with eric about the solidworks renders-
if you have a crude sketch with dimensions, a 3d engine can easily be rendered in a very short amount of time
I'd be willing to draw a few as well, just tell me which ones.
BTW, thanks for using one of my pictures!

Bruno if you just send it as the original word format, I can do the rest. I can copy and paste the text into the editor and just add the pics in manually. I have had a lot of problems in the past with Word creating useable html files.

Eric, I sent the file to the e-mail address given on your website. It's big (2MB); hope you don't have restrictions on file size.Eric wrote:Bruno if you just send it as the original word format, I can do the rest. Yes, that is beautiful indeed. Sorry it took me a while to get to it. It looks great; much improved from the earlier versions. One thing I did notice was that you spelled Ed Knesl's name with two s's - but, he didn't seem to be complaining in his comments above.
Very nicely worked out - this really does deserve to become an absolute classic introductory-level work in the field. Just the right level of detail to satisfy a lot of "curiosity questions" without getting bogged down in theoretical detail. I absolutely agree with the others that it "reads" very well.
Someone someday should compile a kind of "textbook" of good articles on pulsejet design - what you have here would make an excellent introductory section on valveless design to precede more technical articles / chapters that cover actual design theory.

re: Valveless Pulsejets 1.5 -- the latest version
Thanks, Larry. As a matter of fact, I was thinking of eventually expanding this text with more technical sections written by people better qualified to do those, but the problem is that I have absolutely no idea who those other people might be. If I had, I'd be pestering them for articles already and planning a book.
As a matter of fact, I have already started approaching the 'classics' like Kentfield, Zinn and Foa, but they are not responding. Not at all. Not even a polite refusal. I guess they are scared off by the Area 51-like atmosphere that hangs over forums like this one.
