Interesting heat pattern, care to comment on that?

Well, I noticed it for my (non-Chinesy) engines, too, that glowing areas start at and extend later on up from joining sections. Merely in downstream direction first.

The explanation of the heat pattern - I think is :
The fuel mixture bounces of the front bulkhead and compresses the charge even more, so it is cooler right at the front, than insant heat follows, than
down stream fresh fuel/air mixture charge enters at intake, cooling down the
area, so its darker again. After that compression occurs again as it is forced to the lot smaller area, ful inferno develops and whole charge exits and new cycle starts.

Dave, currently, nothing to improve on that motor, except liquid
fueling system on which I work now.

Also I cut the metal for new Micro Jet engine, should have results
in a week.

Thanks, I had a blast visiting with Luc and Viv, going to the Air Show where they demonstrated their engine and especially getting to run it on the same day as planting my backside in a real life F18.

Looking forward to hearing about the "liquid fueling system" you are working on, as well as more about the Micro Jet you're building.
