End of high school - Final Say
So next thursday is the end of year 11 at my school, after which I move on to Hills Road 6th Form (Very happy about getting in there, very high standards), and I thought it would be nice to pay tribute to all the work the teachers have put in over the years for my year group. So. Aside from the bottles of wine for the lucky ones, I devised this from a sketch I had from about 6 months ago.

That's just the banner. The whole thing rolls up , and is then placed on robotic mounts made from servos and perspex. When i call the FRS radio attached to the servos and the amp circuit, the servos then proceed to knock the banner over the side of the roof, allowing it to unfurl. Still needs final text, that comes tomorrow night, as does testing of the servo system (Still need to build the amp circuit). Anyway. Video and photos next week.

Nice set-up!
Well, I can't say that much about all of my teachers... I'm ending this year too, and I don't think I'm gonna throw a party.

Congradulations- The world is in dire need of problem solvers. By completing your schooling to this level you have passed one of life's milestone hurdles. Given your ability with the written word and your appearent interests you might take a visit to RAF Cranwell someday, if so inclined.

Yeah, Most people that meet me don't think i'm 15, not 16 till august, so one of the youngest in my year, yet I look like one of the oldest. Not that it matters, I'm rarely questioned over age. Now, If you'll excuse me, I am off to build that amp circuit.

I am impressed and enchanted to see that the young people show a keen interest and knowledge of these engines other than car's engine or moto bikes.I support you Tom and wish you good success in what you will undertake in the future and perhaps will become you a source of inspiration for the other young people.

First no women in years; now two in short succession. I am overwhelmed. Nicole, Christie, I hope you will fare well in our politically incorrect community.

Well... It's with a heavy heart that I say it didn't happen. I was ready and waiting 8am wednesday morning sharp, when word came through that my freind, my right hand man who would be on the roof with me, had taken his life the previous night.
If i'm not around much for the next while, It's because I've become quite contemplative and am now spending a lot of time thinking rather then being online.

Hello- My condolences on what certainly must be a shock to you. If you could share some insight into this tragedy. What, do you believe, was this persons motive for withdrawing the final measure himself?

My God, Tom, you have my sincere commiserations. It is a terrible blow, I am sure. I hope you will come to terms with it with as little pain as possible under the circumstances.

Sincere condolences Tom, may your friend rest in peace. Take some time for yourself but don't let this sad event bring you down; sometimes being and doing things with other people makes it easier to take...

Tom I am very sorry to hear about your friend. Unfortunately, death is also a part of life and how we deal with it is important. While you grieve for the loss of your friend take the time to think about the positive contributions he made to your life and to that of others. At some point in the future, it may help to dedicate an accomplishment of yours to his memory. Take the time to celebrate his life where possible and move forward with your own.
