I've got a pocket Lockwood too!
Mine fits in my pocket, sort of, and has a 2" CC. Have a few pinholes to plug at lunch, then I'll try it this afternoon!
It's volume is almost exactly 425ml, and weight is 1.25 lb.

Mike,
That first picture is priceless.
I'll find the time to build up a little one this weekend. We'll have a mini pulsejet jam session at the meet. We need an old R/C car chassis to we can do speed runs.
Any of the kids coming out to the meet?
Chris

A great, great picture -- on a par with Larry with his Elektra slung like a gun over his arm. I loved it! A nifty thing, this small feller. Hope it works well.

It kind of looks more like a mini escopette to me, minus the flared exaust. For it to be a lockwood shouldn't the intake be as thick, if not thicker then the exaust?
How do you plan to fuel it?

Wwoooo-hooo!
The little guy started right up, even with 3-4 pin-holes in the welds (that I know about). I used the same 3/32" stinger that I used on the pipewood. It's not at the entry, but has a bend in it and run nearly all the way to the CC, but still in the intake.
OK, this is then installment two of "simple rules for building pulse-jets". I'll re-iterate the simple proportions in the next post.
Video attached.

Over-all length is 29.75, frequency is 237 or 243 depending on which video clip you use.
These 90 bend fittings are .865 ID. I've got a larger set that is 1.42 ID, time to start welding that one up.

Thats awesome! How low can you get it to run? If its running real good you should be able to get it to purrr like a cat, just dont pet it.

I only had 15min or so. I showed no signs of quitting. It dials down to a purr, like you say. It's really nice to hold in your hand. It's only 14" long from bend to ends.

These stainless butt-weld 90 degree fittings from McMaster-Carr are great. Makes a nice, tight u-turn don't you think? Worth designing an engine around. They are specified in inches, but the ID's are closer to metric round numbers, 3/4" is .865 (22mm), the 1 1/4" is 1.4 (36mm).
They also have relatively cheap thin walled inch series od versions, like 1" outside, .065" wall. Dang, I should have used that! The ones I used are thick walled.

Really nice! Indeed.
So the stinger points perpendicular to the center line, and is still in the inlet, right?
Did you notice any coincidents with Eric's fueling point observations on the "Escopette-mod"?

Man, where are all these engines coming from? Everytime I turn around, someone else is posting another. I'm running out of compliments! Good job Mike. Nice engine Mike, etc. for the rest of you too.
