Now that Bruce has started to update his web site again, maybe he will start to ship out all of those long promised CDs ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Pretty brutal!
I wonder how much thrust that would be needed to power one of those small racing boats in which you drives lying on your belly? Two 100 lbs valved ones should perhaps do the trick...

Re: re: Bruces new project
Bruce brought many of us to this forum, kind of grateful to him. While other websites he recommended keep growing and prosperous, it's good to see his website vigorously back to alive again. quite a relief.Eric wrote:I cant find anything nice to say about Bruce so I wont say anything.
re: Bruces new project
I'm not being critical, but if Bruce were an eBay member, I think he would easily have less than a 50% approval rating, and almost everyone would steer clear of his offerings. I dislike buying from anyone having lower than a 98% rating! Play on eBay for awhile and you will see why. If I buy something, I don't want to hear excuses. Right now I am waiting on some HDPE 125 ml bottles I should have had weeks ago, the guy says he had a new baby, that he mailed it a week ago from a week ago and it is coming up on 6 weeks since I paid him. He ignored email after email. But I don't care really, because eBay is like a pulsejet, it's based on feedback, or as Bruce entreated/proclaimed to readers on his aardvark news site, "Have your say." Nothing personal.

Sure seems as if he has plenty of time for everything but filling orders.

Re: re: Bruces new project
Agreed. I am very sorry. As everyone must be aware, I've been the staunchest supporter of Bruce's in this forum, always arguing that his business practices should not obscure the fact that he's the greatest pulsejet developer visible to the public. Even I have wearied of that approach by now, however. I don't really care anymore.Mike Everman wrote:Sure seems as if he has plenty of time for everything but filling orders.
The near-lunatic sounding story of the cruise missile did it for me. I just couldn't get along with that -- not even after the idiotic approach taken by the New Zealand Government, which might have raised some sympathy for Bruce. The whole story has turned sadly crummy.

If Bruce needs money so badly, why doesn't he just make some porn? He already has the camera and the webspace, so WTF? Right now there is zero porn coming out of NZ so he already has a niche market to exploit. Maybe he can involve his jets somehow.
Trig IS fun.

For the record, there is much more info on his other site;

Also; http://www.simplejets.com/ (domain owned by him BTW)

I hope that everyone on this Forum is going to be VERY cautious about the new, bolt-together concept being touted by BS.JetSet wrote:For the record, there is much more info on his other site;

It sounds like a great idea--the various parts can be monitored for wear--and then any part can be replaced, simply by bolting-in a new replacement.
There's some real-world issues to consider, before endorsing this concept:
At the temps the engine is going to be operating, the seal at the bolt-together flange is suspicious--right from the start. The warpage that will inevitably occur will ruin the seal at the flange joints--and there's simply no "gasket" that can survive the environment.
Some poor fool is going to pay the big bucks--and turn into the "guinea pig" for the project--even if it doesn't work.
I'd ask for an independent testimonial about this project, before I put my money down for the product.
Caveat Emptor, as usual (google for that).

Who votes we should google bomb BS's website(s)
Google basically reads what links websites have, what sites are linked to, and what the rating of the other sites are on the search list, as well as what words are used in the links on the websites that link to that website.
So by making a few websites with the proper links, keyword content, and linking them all together, you can trick google into doing funny things.
On a lighter note, does anyone know if the PM's are working yet?

Well, it does work -- at least once. There are pictures of this segmented Lockwood working -- and glowing bright. I'd really like to see that flange joint, though. I've been thinking about a similar concept, with self-adjustable, self-aligning flanges, but have not come very far.hinote wrote:There's some real-world issues to consider, before endorsing this concept:

What I do like is the claim of starting without forced air. I remember Bruce e-mailing me about this with great excitement quite some time ago. He had found out that over a certain size, you just don't nead forced air anymore. The punch packed in a single charge is sufficient to get the ball rolling.
His main point was that even in the Dynajet size, you are still hampered very much by factors such as the boundary layer, gas viscosity, poor surface-to-volume ratio etc. They become insignificant only at fairly big engine sizes -- bigger than those built by most enthusiasts. If I remember our discussion right, he estimated that the Lockwood-style engine gets freed of those impediments somewhere between the 75 and 100-lb thrust size. (The segmented engines powering his dragster are reportedly developing 150 lbs each.)

Re: re: Bruces new project
I have seen the video clip from his website demonstrating a big 150lbs lockwood gets started by just turn on the fuel. New comers should avoid seeing this to prevent them from getting the wrong image that all lockwoods will get started this easy :-)Bruno Ogorelec wrote:he estimated that the Lockwood-style engine gets freed of those impediments somewhere between the 75 and 100-lb thrust size.
