I don't remember exactly. Sometimes what I tried work, and othertimes, did not. You know exactly what I mean. It is a Co2 cartridge.

I found no end of cool little things in a freinds garage, including some nozzles from a furnace, they might be what you are looking for. Bete probably have a match and then some.

I think Steve (and me, too) want(s) to know how you did get such a tiny hole in the threaded bolt. The smallest drills I can get are 0.5mm in diameter, sometimes only 0.8mm drills are available. Actually I'm using a 50th fuel jet, what means the hole diameter is 0.5mm.
I think the smallest BVF carburetor fuel jets are 0.3mm or so. But I don't know whether they feature M5 threads then...hmmm.

I know that some model shops i go to stock tiny bits, so easy to snap, but its not taht much for a set. I'll take a closer look on tuesday if you want.

I successfully found bits in a local hobby shop. There has to be one close to you in Connecticut and also close to Marten in Germany. If not, try mail order or online - look for a supplier of flying model airplane parts and kits.

Buy more than 1 of whatever size you desire.

If you break it (I did), don't throw the shank away.

• They are made of good quality steel and can be used as dowel pins.
• If you grind (with Dremel cut-off wheel) away the fluted end, and chamfer the resulting burr off, you have a nice "drift" with which to try and "press out" the remnant left in the nozzle (tapping it with a small hammer).

I found this on the Internet.

Trying not to look at (and want - he,he) the 707, I was especially interested in the boxed kit of the 601 and the coppery color of the pic below it showing the thrust enhancer "gondola".

Could these units have been made of Cu? Naah, probably copper plated steel for rust protection while in the box.

These M.E.W. guys really found a market niche.
They sold obviously soooo nice and simple toys, which were (and still are) no toys and not as simple to build when someone wanted (and still wants) to get the same results in look and operation.

I doubt the boxed 601 was 100 percent made out of copper. Surely copper plated steel. Then the brazing or welding work wouldn't be visible and the engine really does look more precious this way.
I don't know if rust protection was also a target or even the main target (Were the "normal" 601s made out of mild or stainless steel?; How expensive and how available was stainless steel these days?).

I don't know about the cost of stainless in those days. There was still a lot of military surplus floating around that could be had for cheap.

However, on page 2 of the couple of sheets that Bruno posted, it states:

For prolonged storage soak engine in kerosene to prevent rust.

So, I believe it was made from mild steel.

Maybe it's a question of compression rate or something else of the settings in MovieMaker I changed.
Hmmm...I'll send a WMV again in standard settings when I don't have an MPG file any more.

Oh, yes, when the "normal" 601 has to be soaked in kerosene it is surely made out of mild steel.

I found small drills on eBay (but only via google)!

I bought some of these, and yes you do have to be careful not to break them and wear eye protection when using your dremel.
