H2O2/Steam rocket nozzle and info for sale.

Post by MattManale » Thu Feb 18, 2010 11:40 pm

Greetings everyone,
My name is Matt and I am new to posting here, but have used the site and forums for a few years. I would like to let anyone who is interested know that I have one 50lb thrust H202 rocket nozzle for sale. I will also include the book "STEAM ROCKETS-2" from http://www.canosoarus.com/10X1Skycycle/Skycycle04.htm I am including the book because I intended on using the nozzle for a Truax hot water rocket.
I obtained the nozzle on eBay some time ago and never got around to using it. The specs are listed below.

"I designed these and they have fired at 50 lbs thrust at sea level. These engines are designed for 85-100% Hydrogen Peroxide. These engines should have a life of 10+ hours at 100% peroxide,The thrust could be increased somewhat by running these at higher pressures. These are very robust chambers. Screens can be made easily with a 1-3/8 inch punch.

Now for the specs.

Thrust - nominal 50lbs with 85-90 % hydrogen peroxide

Design Chamber Pressure - 300psi

Material - seamless 347 high temp columbium stainless steel.

Weight - 150 gram +/- 2 gram

Outside Diameter-- 1.500 inch +/- 0.002"

Inside Diameter -- 1.365 inch =/- 0.005"

length ~ 4.4 inches total"

Sorry everyone,
I forgot to post the pics of the nozzle. Please see below.

This motor is new. The dark coloration was caused by the heat generated while being turned.

Just to let anyone interested know, I listed the rocket nozzle and a steam turbine on eBay. Later today I will be adding a rattworks K240 hybrid motor NIB with one reload.
