Different Kinds of Air

Post by Mark » Sat Mar 08, 2008 10:49 pm

"I have now discovered an air five or six times as good as common air... nothing I ever did has surprised me more, or is more satisfactory."

I was just dwelling on how/knowing that nitrous oxide is somewhat fat soluble and was hypothesizing a vanilla butterfat rocket or bear grease fuel. So I came upon the above site and thought Joseph Priestley's comments were funny, like it was almost some sort of supernatural effect. What a long road we have traveled since then.

You know there is another way you could do something similar but would be a little (but only a little) safer and a hell of a lot easier.
Hydrogen Peroxide coming onto contact with certain metals, silver, copper, there are more. You can get the peroxide imported from Sweden and it’s not as expensive as you would think. I once worked at a engineering company and we used to make bits for some bloke who built a working jet pack, Hydrogen Peroxide was the fuel he used.
And for those of you, which I am hoping is a very small number considering the forum I am in, jet packs do work and have been done just search for “rocket belt”

When it comes into contact it instantly turns to steam and the volume increases 600 times or something stupid like that, the best bit is that the oxidiser and fuel is the same thing, no carrying a bit of both!

It can also be used as a oxidiser, which is supposedly better than pure oxygen, this is because when it decomposes it splits into oxygen and water, the water helps cool things down and also turns to steam generating more thrust, so its like oxygen with an added kick.

Did I just waist the last ten mins of everyone’s life telling you something you already new? If so sorry, if I could I would give it back.
I don’t see problems, only opportunities.

Re H2O2
My sticky at the start used to be about 3 times as long and covered monopropellents but was truncated on transfer to the new forum. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of what I wrote but I'm sure it was erudite and heart warming :)
