Quick question, why are they ejected/mortar'd before the main rocket is fired?

i think it's called air launched or something, probably something to do with stability ?

Because if it launches under full rocket power it chars the crew standing by. There are ways round this such as having the launcher and controller separated but accuracy goes down as the guidance has to compensate for a variable offset.
Standard method is an ejection charge and then full motor power, at a safe distance, then a slower burning substainer to maintian speed until impact.
Easily and cheaply knocked up in a afternoon I believe LOL

i think that there is radar transmitter under that plastic thing and it send radar waves to tank and waves reflects from it so missile can "see" target.

Nickc:

Rocket is ported ! Could not launch from the tube. It is directed via the ports...Turned!!!

It shire don't wast any time firing up , does it!!!!

In the old days it would be a gimbaled engine....Porting is faster and easier, to control. Did you see the way it vectored upward on take off! Thrust was directed to the bottom ports, lifting it upwards and forwards....

On 3rd view it did look like it turned upwards.....Ports in rear end????

Fins poped out! I don't think they due any more then stablize dirrection, What do you think!!

Yeah same opinion. The fume of main rcket engine explains itself. No laucher wish to be torched by that fire. Besides the launch system is protected by the ejector too.
Long live jet engine !
