Cost of H2O2?

Post by g0mrf » Thu Oct 12, 2006 10:14 pm

Hi all.
I read a few people saying the price of Hydrogen peroxide was getting really expensive. Someone quoted $60 a litre for 50 volume used in the System Solaire SS67 etc.

I work at a school and a quick look in our catalog shows 2 litres of
100 volume (apx 30%W/V) is currently 7.60 UK pounds or $14

Thanks David

MEKP is a high explosive, oily liquid that is very sensitive!!!

Stands for methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, mek is a common paint thinner sold near the acetone.

AP is acetone peroxide, same kinda thing cept a white pwoder. Even more sensitive and it gets more unstable as time goes by!!!

thanks, guess I don't want to think about playing with anything of the sort... The "marshmello crackers" were pretty cool, but, I think if I played with it I might lose some fingers.

Fingers eyes and hearing!!!

Learned my lesson and the best advice I can give is only play with stuff you can buy (premade) in a safe area in a safe manner where it is legal...and even then stand back and wear safety goggles

Added to the fun of blowing your hands off making either MEKP or AP ("Mother of Satan"), it's also likely to net you a visit from the men in black SUVs, and potentially an extended trip to the "orange jumpsuit holiday camp".

Seriously, don't go there.
