Maybe some insultated quick fuse, like wrap it in the teflon sleeve and stick that inside of a straw.
But the rest of them are right, dont fuse a real rocket. Only use a fuse for sparklers

So maybe you avoid getting burned in the "best" case. But what happens when your fuse runs too fast combined with a near-instantaneous CATO? You're not at a safe distance. The same thing applies for the fact you hadn't actually restrained the motor in any sane way.

Be safe. Killing or maiming yourself will only spoil it for you (and potentially for the rest of the amateur rocketeers)
