will it work?
do you proplr think a 33% Magnesium 66% Zinc Oxide rocket will work im ondering of the zink oxide will work as an oxidiser
re: will it work?
i thini it will cuz the Mg's a,azing heat turns most things with O inthem into an ozadiser http://www.cci.ethz.ch/mainmov.html?exp ... language=1

Re: will it work?
Nope. You have not grasped what an oxidizer is. It is not a oxide.bob000555 wrote:do you proplr think a 33% Magnesium 66% Zinc Oxide rocket will work im ondering of the zink oxide will work as an oxidiser
Buy and read the books Ray recomended or the one in my sticky.
re: will it work?
but did u click the second link...it shows CO2 being broken down to C and O2 by the Mg ZnO would give off O at a much lower temp then CO2...im gona test a 50% 50% mix then work out the proportions

Nope C and MgO
ZnO would give off O at a much lower temp then CO2 im going to test a 50% 50% mix then work out the proportions
You have performed Heats of reaction / heats of formation / enthalpthy change calculations?
re: will it work?
Mg powder burns a 4000*f Zinc oxide melts(hopfuly relesing O) at 1400*f as for that last caluclation i dont know waht that is...this is the first time iv used an unconventional oxidiser
i know i cant spell well...you dont need to tell me
