Hello everyone, my question is:
The simplest to use flame holder is a simple coiled wire, but what material should it be made for long lasting? And how should the coil look like?
I know about an more effective H-Gutter and even better V-Gutter design but they seems complicated.

Hi Ben
Inconel probably see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inconel for more details
But why do you need a flame holder?

Thanks for the information, the PulseJet I am currently working on needs it, so that the flame is not blown out at high velocity. It has the air intake looking forwards.
Do you know how the coil should look like? I think it must not have any specific form nor lenght. But well, maybe there was some kind of "special" wield lol
Thanks

Re: Simple Flame Holder: Material?
Thanks again for the info.
I found a new way to set up the "V" flameholder, and it might be the optimal solution, still going to try the wire. And see how they both perform.
Something like this should do the trick. But with the type of material you recommended.
And if not, this is the V flame holder. Still needs some modifying.
Any suggestion?

Re: Simple Flame Holder: Material?
One suggestion is to build the engine without any flameholder at all, I think it would do more harm than good inside a pulsejet.BenJet wrote:Any suggestion?
