Has anyone used this? I just downloaded the software from here:
http://www.scilab.org/

I was thinking that it might be practical to move the NuDIS solver to Scilab (wasn't the original solver code done in MATLAB).

I tried Scilab, but with no experience with Matlab or this type of software, I fumbled around for a while and gave up. I didn't really have a project in mind, so admittedly motivation was low. Looks powerful if you dive in with both feet.
