Wheels & Brakes.

Post by JetSet » Tue Jan 02, 2007 4:46 pm

Hey.

I want to put my creations to use, and a go-kart seems a sensible starting point.

The frame will be 25mm stainless box section, everything is sorted except the wheels...

The original plan was bike wheels on the front, scooter wheels on the back (with the brakes that came with them) however the local car breakers doesnt deal with anything other than cars.

Does anyone have any ideas for wheels??

I saw these (i cant decide whether to stick a pair on the back, bike wheels on front, or use 4). Also, I cant quite work out the size of them, my guess is around 10 inches but different sites say different ways of reading it.

That leaves me with the brakes... any ideas? All these wheels were going to be on individual spindles, but i could weld up the bearings on the back wheels and use an axle, then some kind of disk brake in the middle.

Any suggestions? I am on a tight budget, so the cheaper the better :-)

Thank you!
JS.
