Mark, prepare to be jealous!

Post by Mike Everman » Mon Feb 09, 2004 5:51 am

I went to my partner Michael Bell's house today to pick up his oxy/acet. tanks, so I could finally run my new Henrob torch, was walking around his back yard while the kids watched "Finding Nemo" on the tube, sipping a Bass, and this was sitting next to his hot tub, about to be part of a sculpture of some sort. I asked him if I could experiment with it for a while, and if he minded if it was a little scorched when I gave it back, if ever (and don't mind the drool on my chin!) He said sure, buddy, what's mine is yours! What a guy. He's always said that if I say I've got the anti-gravity thing down, he's all in. That's the kind of business partner you need!
I couldn't decide whether Scott and Connor or a twelver of Bass set the scale right, so I'll post them both. There's a mounting tab on it that says "Re-test at 2300 psi". Going to have to do the remote sparker for this one, my party noisemaker. The guy that gave it to him may have more, I'll definitely be checking into that...

Wow, mounting flanges and everything. That's the sort of thing that would have caught my eye in an instant if I came across it. It made me laugh, fittings for attachments and everything.
Ought to be a lot of fun sparking it and listening to the sounds it makes.

What the heck is it?
I don't wish to know everything.
I just wish not to be ignorant.

It's a high pressure fire extinguisher tank, I know not for what; aircraft maybe.

Just some possible jam jar shapes or other contrivances, but more of a gamble if you get the dimensions wrong or exhaust diameter too small, t'would be a one time pulse-detonation effect. ha

Looks like a vessel that has potential as a Thermojet to me. I want one to play with.

Mike, what do you think that thing weighs? At 2300 PSIG, I would think that would be a pretty heavy-walled piece. What does the material seem to be?
