I should start a new thread on this! Bad thing to stray off subject. A expert I am not. Yes the head is cooler. The valve is exposed to direct combustion. Heat and Motion takes it's tole. Just looking for a way to extend life a little. I think the V-1 had some type of neoprene coating on the valve Seats. Valve life only needed to be less then 1 hour.

You just want to get the motor tested - sort out the welding later. Buy a pot of exhaust paste, used for mending exhaust pipes, mix with a little water and spread over the inside (and outside) of the holes. Apply heat and it sets. Go out and test your motor.

Mr Williams is correct! Boy can we ramble...........Fire it up!!! See what it will do or not. Leaning tool. The fist one I put together was silver soldered and ran for up to 3 minutes at a time. Even if the sealer blows out, it will run or not!........Good Luck....
