Jet engines are Dangerous! they are very hot and very, Very Loud! This bike runs on regular gas and has throttle, will run about two minutes on the tank."

The groove/channel near the base is pefectly recessed, although it looks like it would interfere with the reeds resting flush. Funny many designs have this seemingly insignificant but apparently clever little channel/underpass. I have a few sets of these.

"This is a P-80 "Jet-Stick" Pulse Jet Engine by Turbocraft. Included is the pulse jet engine with throttle, the instructions, air nozzle, and the original mailing tube, which was mailed on Aug. 31, 1970. It has never been run."

Does anyone know what the valve on the Jet-Stick looks like? I included some "external" eBay pics of the engine in the previous post? Since the jet was said to be about an inch in diameter, I thought maybe the valve design would be something to try on my 25mm od/19mm inside diameter quartz tubing. I wonder if it has a single flapper like a Sibley Craft Jet, or two petals like a pyramid valve or by some chance a flower petal design. Then again, it could be some kind of odd center hole gizmo, something exotic.
I was dwelling on buying the Jet-Stick but lately I have been lacking in creative feelings. It comes and it goes you know. ha

"I bought this pulse jet engine when I was 15 years old. I'm now 70 and I figured if I haven't used it yet I probably never will." ha

I have one of the TIgerjets and even for so small, they are loud as heck, and glow yellow hot in seconds on regular gasoline. Incredible sound.

110 pound thrust Pulsejet engine
"This is a pulsejet engine, manufactured in the late 50's. They were designed to power Navy drones, to provide practice in the shooting down of aircraft. The static thrust is rated at 110 pounds. These are scaled down versions of the pulsejets used to power the German V-1 "Buzz" Bombs in WWII. They are the loudest things in all creation (or at least the loudest things that I've ever heard). They produce a very low frequency sound, a buzzing. To see one operate, go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygjoawtOVOQ I ran one once for about 5 seconds, and later my neighbor (about 200 yards away), came over to ask me what that sound was. It seems that when I lit it up, some of his fish jumped out of the pond. Engine will be shipped in a carbon fiber shipping tube."

"One of the original Dyna-Jet pulse jet engines complete with 3 spare reed valves, matching Allen wrench and the original preliminary instructions. Previously installed in a model over 60 years ago, but never flown. I've had it in storage since then. In excellent condition, ready to run. For history buffs....The August 2004 issue of the Smithsonian AIR & SPACE magazine had a brief article on this engine titled "The Primordial Model Jet Engine". A copy of that article is included."
