Maybe you could invert this and make a lid for it, or seal the bottom by some simple method and drill/grind a hole in the top for a window with a view into the workings of bell jar jam jar. Should take the heat.
Might be fun to wear on your head too and tap it with your knuckle for a metaphysical experience. ha
It's a nice piece for some art/jam jar project.

I wonder if these little tips could be used for something in Pulsejet Land? Yawn.

Might this be the same book? Here's my title page from my photocopied book and here is the front of a similar book on eBay. According to a source the hyphenated word cluster "NYNbCNPyHOLLINE BO3AyWHO-PEAKTNBHbIE" on my title page is the word for pulsejet in Russian. My keys can't match the Russian lettering so I just did the best I could. ha

I guess the previous book just has ramjets and regular jets. He added a few pictures for me to his page. Still, I wonder if there might be some mention of pulsejets. Alas...
I am reminded of a quote by Foa though, which goes something like this, "The line of demarcation between subsonic ramjets and valveless pulsejets is blurred." Foa mentions how subsonic ramjets benefit from pulsating combustion, although you would probably have to get a subsonic ramjet moving for it to run. Still, you can start to see how closely related they are. I remember another thought/phrase where it's mentioned that at high speeds a valved pulsejet can't close it's valves and in effect becomes a poorly running ramjet.
In an email to me the seller wrote ...
"I don't know what type of engines are in this book.. I added for you new pictures. "

Man, that would be really cool to try running, jam jar style -- or maybe even with a TINY propane feed in the pointy snout. Seems to me to be a kind of "Arabian Nights Lockwood".

I just may have to buy that! I'm thinking it might run if one of the openings is plugged up.
