Sharpening Step-Drills...How?

Post by PulseDuuude » Sat Apr 16, 2005 6:03 am

Help!

Does anyone know how to sharpen the steps of a step drill? Are there online do-it-yourself directions somewhere?

You'll notice the cut they put to make the flutes. If you have a dremel and a stone bit, like 1/2" dia to 3/4"you can sharpen the edge by grinding that a little deeper into the clockwise face of the groove that does the cutting.
Mike Often wrong, never unsure.
