combustion chamber

Post by adibrook » Sun Aug 29, 2004 8:24 pm

My turbine is still not running.

I was wandering about the combustion chamber size. I'v herd some different (and confusing) stuff from different people, but i think i'v just about got it sorted out now.

Her's my plan: The small pipes are standart car exhaust pipe, and the combustion chamber itself is 80mm piping.

Is that about the right size?

It is recomended the drilled inner liner should extend full length of the combustor so the air cannot go directly to the turbine. Not doing this renders your hole size calculations invalid.

Once again
GO TO http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DIYGasTurbines/
GO TO THE FILES SECTION
There is an .exe file for calculating combustor holes sizes etc.
Note this .exe is based on the inner tube extending the full length of the combustor.

Adibrook this is the third time we have gone over this. First do as marksteamnz says. Second, don't expect us to tell you if its the right size because first we have to now the size of the inducer on your turbo. Your welcome.
