Thank you for that, John. I found when I started to grok the math that most of my turbine ideas were not going to work. And the deeper it goes, the deeper it goes, too. Grasping that the thrust is a small by-product of the work going on is the first step!

Hi Mike
Yeh , we need to do a bit of maths in the beginning to see if we're in the ballpark with a design and don't have a major mismatch of components, thankfully theres now plenty of info available to do that

Ractetmotorman.... if you are still out there, thank you very much for all the information you posted here. I am planning on building an axial flow motor very soon. I am in the phases where I need to know everything... most importantly, to know what it is I am not even aware of. This information in your post is very appreciated. Thank you.
