Would a fd35 Schreckling engine designed according to the plans be powerful enough to thrust a person on a bicycle. I'm gonna borrow the Kurt Schreckling book from the public library tomorrow and would appreciate help, if the fd35 isn't powerful enough, what design should I use then?

Yes.

GTBA also has some broad specs on thrust and such.

If you have access to the library you might want to think about the Kamps design. Still simple, but twice the thrust.
