FD3/64 in Pro Desktop

This is a little project I've been playing with before actually starting the build for real.

Nice!

If you are going to build a "real" FD3 engine later you should get hold of the improved drawings instead of using the orginal design, most of the changes are made in the combustor to get a more stable flame zone and higher thrust.

Yes I thought there were updated drawings. Do they use flame tubes as opposed to the spiral for the fuel? Also, are the updated drawings in his later book, or on the internet somewhere...?

As far as I know it is not Kurt who has been updating the engine but members of GTBA, in some of the early newsletters there are much info on the experiments people have done to improve the engine.

The compressor diffuser vanes are pointing in the wrong direction though.

Ha ha they are too... How about that! Shouldn't make any difference to performance I'm sure... :oops: I shall have a look through the newsletters.
