Re: Combustion chamber
Thanks guys.
Yesterday I bought a S400 turbo from scrapy yard.
The compressor has some corosion, but i think, it should work.
Now Iam trying to find information about it.

Re: Combustion chamber
there is no clasical solving for combustion chambers because of very complex CFD analysis and conditions.only some empirical tests are available!
for CC designing you must have a lab!

Re: Combustion chamber
I decided to make CC big as posible, and thats all.
Re: Combustion chamber
I have two sides metal covered bearings, is it good idea to keep outer side covered?
Re: Combustion chamber
I machined diffuser plate:
Re: Combustion chamber
Maybe anyone knows what angle is "the best" for NGV blades? Or how to find it?

Re: Combustion chamber
Hi
You'll need to do the maths to workout the throat areas and from that the actual NGV angle , it'll vary depending on a multitude of variables , but something around 20 -25-30 degrees should be OK
Cheers

Re: Combustion chamber
Hm, first solution i think is to difficult to me. I think I will use ~25degrees
Re: Combustion chamber
I made some progress on the engine:

Re: Combustion chamber
Looking good! I´ll follow this build with great interest.
Re: Combustion chamber
Thanks, Johansson. Today I cut slots in NGV for vanes at 25degres. Its my first jet engine, so Iam not going pretty fast
Re: Combustion chamber
This is what I have done at this moment:
The CC loks terrible and its made from 0.5mm sheet metal. But it's only for testing. Now it hasn't got any vaporizing tubes, becouse I will test engine on propane. If engine will run good, I will make the CC from stainless, and of course, with vaporizing tubes.

Re: Combustion chamber
Well, i made few tests, but all times i had flame out, but only in one side, about 45degrees of circle. For fuel Iam using LPG gas. I add sketch to understand the problem.
I hope, you can help me :/

Re: Combustion chamber
Have you got a better drawing of how the combustor is build, what does the propane injectors look like and how are they positioned for example?
