I am new to jet engines. I am building a axial compressor engine and am having trouble getting the air fuel mixture right. I am using propane for fuel. I can get it to sustain a good burn inside but not enough heat to turn the turbine past a couple of hundred rpm's. I have scratch built the entire thing less the tubes and bearings. I didn't take too much time on the whole build. I know there is a lot of science in the build but they work on a simple theory. Does anyone have any pics that I could reference or any helpful hints. thanx

While I am looking for the usb cable for my cam I will say I have a 4 inch dia. outer housing 3 inch flame holder all 11.75 inch long it is very primitive as compared to everything I have seen here. I am starting to feel scared and inferior after reading some of the posts as some of the minor things I might of overlooked.

sorry having trouble with this pile of schitte i am using as a computer. The rest of the pics are here. first is the propane injection, then is the combustor horizontal then vertical, then the homemade ngv, which was the compressor before I researched and found that it wouldnt work so I flattened it out and rebent it. which is a little rough but it seems to work, then looking at the end of the turbine that is made of 3/16 stainless cut and hand bent using my mill rotary table as a guide for the angles.

Hi Pyro
Finally got them downloaded :-))
Sorry to tell you, this but theres no way she's gunna work :-((
Component efficiency levels will be too low for it to be able to self sustain .
Suggest getting hold of a turbocharger and fit a lube system and combustor , details of others engines on the site here or try over at Yahoo Groups ....DIY Gas Turbines for more inspiration :-))

Hi Pyro
After 18 years of playing with turbines .........
http://www.racketmotorman.turbinebuilder.com/
I'm starting to get a reasonable feel for whats required to make them work .
May I suggest you get a couple of books on the subject of homebuilt turbines .................

The one with the yellow cover , third from the top of the page is probably the best , written by Thomas Kamps
